Our Tigers Class is a vibrant, hands-on learning space for toddlers ages 1 to 3 years. Designed for movement, discovery, and social development, this classroom provides a safe, faith-filled environment where busy little learners can explore God's world with confidence and joy.
What to Expect in the Tigers Class

Safe & Active Learning Space: Our toddler room is arranged for hands-on discovery, with age-appropriate toys, sensory tables, dramatic play areas, and movement zones.

Faith Integration: Daily songs, prayer, and simple Bible stories introduce toddlers to God's love in ways toddlers can understand and enjoy.

Social & Emotional Development: Teachers help toddlers navigate emotions, practice sharing, and build confidence through positive guidance and relationships.

My name is Elise Chirgwin
Originally joining VELC as a Teacher’s Assistant, Elise quickly proved herself as a joyful, reliable leader and now serves as our head toddler teacher. She brings experience from church camps, children’s ministry, and childcare, and is loved for her kind, upbeat personality.

Teacher-to-Child Ratio
We maintain a low toddler ratio (typically 1:5 or better) to ensure each child receives close supervision, support, and encouragement throughout the day.
Parent Communication
We know toddlers are learning and growing so fast. Our team provides daily updates on meals, naps, potty learning, and milestones. We partner with parents to support consistency in routines, discipline, and developmental goals.
